I can not seem to locate the source for these particular silver over lac beads.
When I find them they are always these attractive, compete necklaces. From India somewhere I would imagine - but when and where?

i'm reminded of the silver beads that were being made in Thailand about 25 years ago-??
hoping someone will recognise them instantly and knows exact details..

These silver beads from Thailand are very collectable when antique.
Seller ID faqrun has been selling antique beads of this kind at Catawiki lately.

Search for: "Prakeuam or Sinarin silver beads".

Sizes range from really small to quite large. The one pictured is 13,7 x 18,2 mm.

Steve and Duangporn Dunning. They contracted with a village to produce these beads. I still have a shoe box full of them. High silver content (close to fine, IIRC) over some sort of resin fill. Duangporn used to assemble necklaces - this could be one of hers?
