I've started to buy a few more necklaces in their original configurations.

The first is a long flapper necklace with very unusual color "football" beads. From Thomas Stricker (Ethnographic Room).

The second is a classic Moretti bead necklace. From Nicole Anderson (The Glory of Beads).

Both need to be re-strung but the beads are in very fine condition.

Thanks for showing, Rosanna! Tucson bead adventures are rare and special for sure! Especially as regional shows are changing drastically. Tucson shows have changed as well. But it is still THE global draw, almost a pilgrimage. Long live Tucson and the bead collecting phenomena!

Some fancies & milles, already culled from some market strands bought from the Africans (Gem Mall, African Village, JOGS).

Black 5L chevrons from a nice market strand of mostly black chevrons. From Kabba Brothers (Gem Mall).

Decided to get one nice large, green Akoso bead (Thomas Stricker) and string it on a leather cord from a seller in African Village as my Tucson 2020 adornment.

Also found in African Village - a nice strand of "crumb" beads made from recycling other beads, probably mostly Venetian and Czech since you can see distinct pieces of Venetian millefiori cane in some.

Some mystery beads?

Some beads I bought have no clear origin that the bead community can agree on.

The first group was found on an inexpensive strand of molded Czech beads (African Village). They are lamp beads, and opinions vary as the whether they are Japanese or Czech, or ? They are most often found on strands of Czech molded beads, or occasionally on mixed Venetian strands. I continue to hunt for them, especially the blue, red & white version.

The second picture show a short strand of red, black & white striped bi-cones and almost-bi-cones that are also a mystery in the collectibles world. Found at the Ethiopian dealer ET Imports (Gem Mall).

Some more neat beads

The exact origins are also unknown - maybe the forum can help?

First is a strand of mixed horn and bone beads with metal "nail head" decorations. They appear to be the type used for prayer strands. Origin is possibly Afghanistan. From John Binzley, Silk Road show.

Second is a strand of small black lamp beads, African Village. I thought they were molded Czech but they are clearly lamp beads. Possibly Venetian but the stringing is on black cord that I normally associate with beads made in India. The Africans had over-wrapped the black cord with raffia at the ends. What do the bead cognoscenti think?

Would the Black lamp worked beads on the right be a variation on the black with white what are called "Dog Teeth"/"Dog Tooth" beads, which I believe are Venetian.
Good spot on the India Stringing- more vexing, for sure..
Or a mini Melon-type bead not Venetian, perhaps Indonesian, and more related to these..below?

eBay example shown for illustration purposes, not affiliated with Seller. Described as " Antique Very Old! Naga Land Turquoise Tone Melon Glass Bead Bead Necklace".

Fabulous! Although from a different culture and time, the upper string of prayer beads remind me of the Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer.

Bassem Elias (Ethnographic Room) had a collection of newly-consigned Islamic era beads. I couldn't walk away without a few.

This purchase is an example of the benefit of attending the Tucson shows - you will find things not available elsewhere - and the opportunity to select from collections that are going on the market. Typically, the collections are comprised of beads that have been carefully culled over many years. Lovely and educational to examine even if you are not buying!

These were purchased from Nicole and Francesco who own The Glory of Beads and had their amazing Venetian glass collection in Green Valley AZ.

Oops sorry about them being upside down! 😬

And as an interesting coincidence, in 1953 when I was born, my parents moved into house #53 on the street where I grew up.

Thank you Abe for encouraging the Tucson visitors to show their new stash.
Thank you Rosanna and Beadbox to show your newfound treasures and also for mentioning the sources.
Anyone else who has something interesting to show, please don't be shy. The non-Tucson goers are hungry to see what beads excited you!
