I've just written privately to "lapzz"to try to persuade him not to give up on the forum. Actually, he has some very useful first-hand knowledge of ancient artefacts from the Pakistan/Afghanistan region, and I can't imagine how anyone here could have been offended by anything he has posted.

All the best,

Will

I suspect that someone sent a private message that offended him, I have an idea who as this person has a bad habit of doing their best to disrupt things on this forum.

All my best ........ Danny

Some thoughts

Not everything that gets posted here generates any interest or comments.

And, sometimes things that get typed out in a hurry come across as blunt or even hostile, but the person does not mean to be rude. It is a common problem of on-line vs. in-person communications.

So please don't give up on BCN - it's normally a fun place to hang out, and you sometimes just have to ignore a few posts here & there when they don't particularly appeal to you.

As a person new to the forum I have no clue why you are evidently upset, or why you feel the necessity to cut ties. As a Bead Community we are apt to step on toes, disagree, and have conflicts, as well as hurt feelings. Plus the typed word can be misconstrued as far as inflection and intent. This forum is a microcosm of Life in general, and poses the same challenges when conflicts/ hurt feelings arise. Hopefully the goal of ultimately working towards reconciliation, positive problem solving and supporting each other can be utilized in this forum as it is in life.

I think we all bring a unique set of strengths, knowledge, talent, and a special perspective and enthusiasm/love for Beads and what they represent to us personally and in the broader context. I'm sure you do as well, so it would be a loss for everyone- new people like me included. We're all here to share, learn, and support each other in this common endeavor.

I don't know you but it sounds like there are many here that value and respect your contribution and would hate to see you go. Therefore I hope you reconsider, and that whatever prompted you to feel this way can be expressed and resolved. I suggest get it off your chest in the forum or by private message.

Best wishes, Anne

something a bit fishy........

OK, I was curious as to why I was NOT allowed to respond to a post on another forum?
see: "experts such as "BEADMAN / TASART /" are not welcomed to discuss or comment in this thread"
I had never had any interaction with the person posting or making the remarks, so it piqued my interest.....simple deductions led me to find some odd goings on here on BCN related to the Asian Art Forum....seems our new friend lapzz and the Asian Forum poster Shikra may possibly be one and the same person!
I welcome all new forumites and I always encourage searching for the truth in bead information by all interested collectors....I also saw no one from this forum harassing or bullying lapzz.....please see the pictures below for some interesting side by side comparisons of photo technique and choice of backgrounds.....I still welcome you but I am concerned that there may be some ulterior motives behind the request for Admin to remove and delete. Just seems really curious???

It has always puzzled me...

It has always puzzled me: "Why do some of my favorite BCN forumites choose to use a fictitious name?"

When a person is willing to accept credit for his statements, I feel this person is more likely to speak responsibly. But if he or she chooses a fictitious name, I wonder.

I would especially like to hear from those of you who are using a "handle" rather than your real name or identifiable initials.

Just Fred

Beadweyr was the name of my retail store and business since 1990's so I fine it simpler to keep that name as my online handle. But I always place my name in my postings so people know who I am.

Listen folks
i never had any sort of interactions nor i have with anyone in this world, don't know why people so in agony?
have i used abusive language anywhere? or posted uncalled for remarks for anyone belonging to BCN or any other forum?
and you people what should i call a tribe of pendants, changing your statements every now and then. prior to criticizing others look at your selves...
people here might be champ of playing games with other's feelings but i am not, its sad, so sad how you treat users here.
yes i have read Beadman and Tasart's posts and really admired their knowledge and expertise and later i joined this BCN.

But you forgot i was desperately posting multiple beads and asking for experts?
your experts showed their presence here by posting links and remembering past..did any expert came out of dismissiveness or bother to ask me why i'm doing so? i got hurt though

Now the truth is, my source man sent me a parcel of ancient beads and i told him they are good even as i was not expert in beads, but that stupid source man bought whole lot of beads worth millions of pkr from a tribal person without any of my consent and letting me know, in a very short term of paying money....

i needed to ask the authenticity and worth of those beads, if i could have done some better for helping to save the source man and his family from crises.
But this banner " This forum is not to be used for sales or political commentary" bind me to ask further,
i later tried to post them in classified but in vain, where were the experts then?

but here everybody was trying to prove them fake without asking any further evidences, as now i have learned a bit more about beads, only few were fakes.

Now the harm is done that guy has lost everything his small land and house in order to compensate, what would i do to those beads, should i burn them or crush them under my foot?

i do not like This forum anymore, i had a wish to decorate it with so many unique beads and artifacts meanwhile once,

yes i was embarrassed because i really had a respect for experts like Beadman and Tasart here, so i firstly asked for my removal but now i dont wan't to be here no more at all

Admin kindly remove me from this BCN, remove all my data and posts from here,

So what you are saying is: You are trying to jump into the bead business and you wanted this forum to validate your beads. You had your source send you some beads and you thought they were authentic. Then without your permission your source invests millions of his PKR into beads he and you had no firm knowledge of. Now he loses his land and his house and you want to know if you should crush or burn the beads. And all of this because somebody on this forum gave you a link of a bead subject that has been discussed in detail in the past. You call your source a stupid man, yet you blame the forum because it has a "do not sell banner"....My take is this: You showed some beads hoping to get validation and requests to buy, the response disappointed you because most of your beads are questionable to say the least, you went on another forum to try your luck there, the response is the same there, you realize you are jumping into something that you have little knowledge in and now you are looking to blame someone for your shortcomings. You and I have had NO dealings, yet YOU told ME that I was not welcome to post in the other forum....yet you cry about maltreatment. I have been doing this for many years, it is not a "get rich quick" business, as it seems you had hoped. It takes years of learning, years of buying and collecting beads, sometimes losing money along the way...If you were to use this forum as a tool for research, you would have found most of your answers already published...but that would have required time and effort on your part.....instead you threw the beads out for evaluation and you were not happy with the response...then you wanted to hurt feelings to get revenge....when the forumites responded with kindness, you decided to remain, when I pointed out facts (without criticizing you in any way) you lashed out again in anger, accusing this forum of the demise of an entire family and their land.....I could go on and on but that would serve no purpose. I'm sorry you dragged me into this! I hope, for your sake, if you choose to continue in your bead endeavors, you use this forum and all it has to offer

That stupid guy is more than a decade old friend of mine who introduced me minerals from Northern areas, TRUTH is I cannot disagree with YOU or Beadman in all aspects regarding beads expertise, knowledge and people dealing in beads because YOU are expert and I am not,
i never was interested in bead business neither i am, these beads were put on my table to help someone out urgently, I am telling everything as i was told till today, anyway, as he is coming day after tomorrow this bead stuff will be returned back to him,

but i'm rather kinda inspired if what these beads are for, could make someone humiliated in a moment, on the other hand make someone favorite,

i don't want to be in this bead stuff anymore....bad experience

So as my posts and photos which definitely are not authentic should better be deleted so as my account and all my data should be erased, i have no reasons to be remain a BCN member anymore and again i apologize for any act that disheartened anyone here by me,

First of all there are very few true experts in the bead world, I am not one, I can guarantee that personally! I am a generalist with a lot of experience, years of collecting and years of studying the beads.
Anyone with a passion for the beads can do the same....getting in the bead business for a quick dollar will backfire eventually....helping a friend by trying to sell his beads is admirable but there are better ways of helping, first of all being candid up front will get the best results in the long run, no hurt feelings, no humiliation etc....
I won't preach, just point out facts! This forum is full of very helpful and friendly people that love beads. This forum has checks and balances and can serve as a safety net for anyone wishing to use it as that. The combined experiences cannot be counted in mere years, there are many lifetimes of bead experiences on this forum! As you stated you were never interested to begin with, now you have a bad experience and you don't want to be in this bead stuff anymore! Just please don't blame the forum or the many people that tried to help you, chalk it up as a learning experience and who knows, maybe in the future, you may wish to learn more and participate in the way it was meant to be. I wish you luck!
