See how the 'points' look ragged? This is a major sign that these were made in India. They are made by assembling wedge shaped strips of glass. The result is imperfect points where the design fails to line up.
The Venetian method is to mold the molten glass cane prior to dipping new glass layers. There might be bending or rounding of the tips, but they will have single points, not the raggedy look of your chevrons from India.
nice tight drawn layers. Not Luigi; JP or Nicole could probably tell us the maker...possibly Costanini...I think Art is referring to these 2.
The reply did not line up as I anticipated, but I knew these two were not from India. I was referring to the first and third group of photos, but I'm sure he knew that.
I think they are Luigi's The two big ones with green. I did get some of his chevrons..Two very nice green with clear layers.
The orange ones and the smaller ones are prob Indian. I got some of those before I knew what was what.
But the colors are good on these ones.
I ended up collecting several types form India just for fun
Odan, do you own any of Art Seymour's chevrons? He is the master.
I don't own any Mr. Seymour's chevrons. I'm more of a reluctant collector.
Now I'm selling my beads and not collecting more.
I have watched his progress though for the past 15 yrs.
This is the place for everything beads. I love BCN...Thanks for all the gr8 info.
See ya at the forum....
