Twenty different people may try twenty different things. All of them good.
An expert in ancient bead sales -at Bonhams Auctions in London- once advised me to add a little high carat ancient gold to ancient bead designs. It works.
But maybe large gold beads would be necessary because there is so much white. This is my humble advice…since you've opened the door to random ideas.
In general, red, white and blue always works. Graduating almost always works. But you might also try closing your eyes and selecting each bead by chance -this sometimes works too!
Thanks Fred, I love the idea of some gold bling sparkling up all those blue eyes! Probably won't be high carat ancient gold though on my budget...
Probably because it looks a little like gold, I've found that old African brass works well with ancients (see photo). High content Hill Tribe silver, the kind with a matte finish, also can work. Other beads with no gloss can be tried - I'm a fan of black and brown wood disks; also horn and bone.
I think that using blue spacer beads of any kind will make the whole necklace look too uniform and possibly boring.
Thanks Rosanna - I never would have considered gold or brass but I love the idea and the warmth and richness it would give. I love your example photo.
Finished it today! Yes found some African brass beads to add and a little gold glass bling for tiny splash of sparkle. I will wear this often.
The colors and detail are so hard to see in a photo so I took a video. I hope you can access it.

I really enjoyed witnessing the process and appreciate seeing your finished necklace. And Joy, it's really nice to see you here again! :)
