This bead is a chevron bead, but I'm not sure of the period. It has 6 red and white layers.
What do you think about it, I bought it in Africa in the 1990s.
Can anyone give me any information about it?

Hi Kika,
That is when India began producing their version, known as the "hot strip" method, named by Jamey Allen. The more you see, the easier it is to identify them. Also the quality of their glass is different - much lighter weight. Due to the high lead content of Venetian glass, it is nice and heavy by comparison.

Yes, I thought she could not be Venetian, and yet she had 6 layers. You are right, it is lighter than a Venetian bead and the glass does not have the same quality.
In what years could it be made?
