Problematic African Beads

I have seen African beads such as these over the years but have never been able to inspect one closely so the production technique and place of origin have eluded me. They are pretty primitive and likely of local manufacture (as opposed to Europe).

Can anyone enlighten me on their manufacture and origin?

the smallest red barrel-shaped bead with the black hole-coating appears to match many of the plain colour glass furnace-wound beads i used to sell, recently made in India.
the others might be much older... Czech or Venetian...?
