Another one with an asking price of $450 - this one at least has the original Chinese stringing and filigree clasp.

Is this some sort of shilling, do you suppose? Put something up for ten times the going rate, then something similar for half the amount and hope someone thinks they're getting a bargain?
I'd like to meet the insurance agent willing to "replace with equivalent wholesale value" a $15 strand of beads for $450...
and an insurance premium buyer would be terribly foolish to spend a higher rate on a policy based upon a $450 replacement value when, if push comes to shove and lets say a stolen or damaged item has to be replaced, they'll only get something with a price of $15.
Wow, how did we miss this one all these years, literally? Just happened upon the revision summary (20 revisions from 2012 - 2016) to find that this item has been available since April of 2012....but wait! It's from a no pets, non smoking home!
It really puzzles me too that these export porcelain as well as the cinnabar lacquer beads from the 1980s are now regarded as rare precious items by sellers... In the late 80s the porcelain bead necklaces were retailing for under 40.00. At that time, I worked at General Bead in SF and they used to get various job lots...and I got about 1/2 shoe box worth of Chinese porcelain beads ($10.00 total) in 3 different designs with plenty for necklaces for mom, sis and sister-in-law. Made bracelets with the leftovers.
