I had never seen copper bezel versions of peacock eye foil glass beads, until I saw this 54 inch long necklace gleaming on the shelf of the thrift store boutique. Technically most of them are not beads, but there are a few in there. Would the bezeled glass be called panes? or cabochons (domed on both sides)? I paid around $5 I think.

Congrats! Add a few zeros to the $5, and you have an estimate......peacock cabachons on a long, long necklace...I could search NorCal thift stores till I don't dye my hair anymore and not find but maybe a broken crumb of one bead.....
Whoo-hoo!

Thanks! makes me feel good to hear that! I look in the glass case 4 to 6 times a week. I find good things occasionally but it can be a long, long time in between. I felt the peacock eye bezels HAD to be pretty good. I don't search bezel necklaces specifically, but it seemed to me I should have seen one during all the online searching I've been doing... unbelievable how many jewelry photos I've looked at in the past 5 years. Sort of like visiting thousands and thousands of swap meets and antique shops (minus the driving, parking, walking, and carrying cash).

Thanks for posting Birdie - I would not recognize these as valuable otherwise!

I didn't even think to look at Ebay, duh. I see two of these bezel cab necklaces, one currently at auction. Thanks for reminding me.

Attached was a 1 1/2 inch copper bezel with a peacock feather under glass. I could not wear it that way so I removed it... sorry, no photo. Hey, lucky me at the thrift store, they must have put it on display just before I arrived. Competition is fierce out there. I undid one link and straightened out the kinks before redoing it. I might have removed a sharply broken piece. I left a cracked pane on the strand.

This is absolutely beautiful! I love everything peacock, so also this type of cabochon. I have a necklace myself with maybe four of these. And match earrings. But never saw such a huge collection in one. What a find!

oops, I was just trying to share one of my finds. I didn't have any stone beads to share so I shared my most recent find. My fault for not researching first, I thought it was a $200 piece.

Beautiful find! I wish I would find things like this in our thrift stores/flea markets.. Maybe years ago I found a few millefiori beads and back then I couldn't even buy them all ^_^ But finds like this surely make my heart skip a beat. Very cool!

But alas, they have no holes in them, so they aren't beads. (I'll just whisper.....
"Antlers!!!!")
