Many people do upload their own images. I have uploaded some of my own photography and some of my beads photos. Pinterest is very new and it became very popular quickly. It is now third largest social media site after Facebook and Twitter. So they are adjusting to this and at times the servers are overloaded and it's difficult to upload images but most of the time, it is very fast. That will all be remedied as time goes on.

Also, it's not so much about uploading images as it is about pinning images and repinning other users images. It is about sharing what inspires you as you roam the web. When you find something interesting you share it by pinning it.

And if you have an online business you can easily pin products from your website without having to upload them. And if you add price with a dollar sign in your description of the item, Pinterest adds a little price tag across the top left corner. And when people click on the image, it goes to that image on your website and can be purchased. Pinterest has a higher rate of user purchases than Facebook.
