Yes, Naomi was perhaps one of the earlier American collectors. At least here in California. She was a young flight attendant in the 1960s, going to exotic places in the world, and had a curiosity to seek out what others couldn't even imagine......she wore some of the loveliest Jatim beads I'd ever seen one of the few times I had the occasion to meet her, at one of Jamey's talks for the N. Ca bead society. Jamey designed most of her necklaces.

I feel that this auction will draw bidders from far and wide, and there will not be a single thing I personally could afford. But it will be very educational to go down to Alameda on preview weekend and view the treasure just the same. I find it strange that the auction is on a Monday. But maybe they feel most of their bidders will be absentee anyway...
