While we are talking about simplistic ideas--

The name "rosetta stone" is not an Egyptian name. The word itself is Old Italian, probably based upon Latin. No one has a clue what the makers of this stone document called it in their time. The name was coined and popularized when the translation was accomplished, and became big news.

The name in this context was chosen because the name of the Egyptian town (Rasid) was changed to "Rosetta" or "Rosette" by Napoleon's occupying troops in ca. 1799. There is no relationship to the beads. Nor to things Egyptian.

This idea is dismissible fake history.
