Actually the beads are not fused. They are each melon domes with the bottom flat side coated as you see in the photo.

The beads are strung on fine gilt brass chain.

One of the remarkable things about this necklace is that the domes somehow automatically line up. No matter how much I monkey with it, when I hang it on a display bust it straightens out somehow and all the domes line up.

The color you see is the actual color of the glass.
