I bought a bag of mixed jewelry pieces at a flea market last week, and certainly got more than my $7 worth!

This white beaded necklace...I thought it was bone, and yet the grain is interesting. It's hard to capture on my phone, but it really looks like Schreger lines are present, a cross-hatching that's difficult to photo.

I can't believe it's really ivory, but I don't want to assume it's bone. Any other ways to determine that?
