These are collars worn by young girls of the Pokot Tribe, Kenya
Made from roots of Cyperus papyrus L. – Bulrush - Cyperaceae.
Said also made from the twigs of t'kaukau, a wild asparagus, but maybe that's Bulrush too?
Later on these girl's get glass beads by their male admirers for more elaborate collars.
