I suspect it is unlikely that "Russian" beads were used in the slave trade. They are from too late in time to be such a commodity. At best (or worst), they would have been at the end of that unfortunate phenomenon.

By the way, how did you happen to acquire a strand of "Russian" beads from the Summerfield Collection?
