Burgess and Dussubieux analyzed several "Canton" or "Padre" beads in their study published in BEADS vol. 19. Unfortunately, with little comparative material from China, they could not conclude much about the source of these beads.

BTW, the beads pictured in the original post do not have the appearance of Bavarian beads based on the specimens I have examined. So a Chinese (or other) origin is more likely.
