Heay guy's and gall's/

I've been going through ny Islamic period stuff and came across this
little jem.
It's only around 4.5mm's dia. and the perf is like three mm's
It is a pad rolled bead. On a photo I didn't have room for on our tiny
but very useful FORUM...But I think you all know what those seem look like...
Anyhow.......is this MOZAIC look from the decomposition of the glass.
Did the artist of this centuries old bead do this with purpose ??
