Aged Stripes and Picasso Stripes. I am at Beadsmith now, though totally different atmosphere am slowly working on these beads. Beadsmith could have a 2016 collection. Ornela or Preciosa had been running at full capacity for years , hard to get product timely and hard to pay for in such big import lots. Also hard to find left over stocks BUT stripe beads especially opaque were just sitting in inventory. The problems are getting them matted, much is done with chemical and also getting them to a contractor, one trust worthy but also lets call finicky . Shipping costs made beads costly, as well as supply of stripes fragile. Eventually prices up and up. Beadsmith secured some York base stock and is going forward, prices will be better but loose not strung and marketed as limited. The future of product will depend on demand, Ornela stock but reliable contractors we have.
Thanks for all your posts . Especially liked one on zig zag bead. Now being made in China Acrylic and sold as designer, Stripes, frosting makes bead look older but some opaque look good not frosted. Some were coming with green cast. Will see results in future but these were and are a hidden treasure hidden in Preciosa, surprised not copied. I can answer some questions here, Czech has downsized and some ethnic fashion opportunities can't compete with plastic.
