A classic theme since Sung China.
What initially struck me is the resemblance of the blue things to leaves. Maybe the first impression is the one to go with.

In Japan, they are particularly associated with the start of the Lunar New Year, appearing on greeting cards and as a design stamped into seasonal sweets.
