Matte Red & Black Chevrons - Picard?

Rummaging through more things to put up for sale, I found these 3 matte red chevron beads. What I remember about them is that they were supposedly new beads cut from old Venetian cane. They were purchased many years before Chinese chevrons hit the market.

So I dug up an older thread here about these very beads, but because mine are matte, I wonder if they were the ones commissioned by Ruth & John to be cut, or if they're something else?

The holes are of different sizes, and the ends of two beads have been ground flat. One bead has a rounded end, the other end with one flat area. They're about 16.5-17mm in diameter.

What do you think?
