Yes, one of my favourite books from the 80's. A beautifully written short novel, packed with observations about collecting and the collapse of totalitarian communism. Chatwin wrote it as he was dying. He had been a director of Sotheby's and knew a lot about how obsessive collectors can be. Thanks for reminding me about it, Linda. I'll read it again.
