I am only talking about the large oblong beads here.
They are compared to the large beads that are often white with color stripes, which are furnace wound, and I believe were made in India.
The red/brown beads shown here appear to be different. The hole size and shape is different, and the way of patterning the bead is different. The Indian furnace wound beads have their decoration made by adding striped strips of color. The red/brown beads show more raking and working the glass with the color added.
I have seen these red/brown glass beads on Chinese markets since about 8 years ago. (was not there any earlier, so can not comment on that).
On this picture (taken in 2014 in Beijing) you can see one of these beads in the back on the left (and a blue brother).
