There are numerous individual specimens and several sample cards on display at the Glasmuseum Warmensteinach (see Fig. 17 in my BEADS 28 article for some examples). The largest collection of Fichtelgebirge beads, however, is in the possession of one of the co-authors which contains a very varied assemblage of furnace-wound beads. My article also mentions the use of a kaolin release. This is not visible in the holes of any of the hundreds of beads I examined. The annular or ring beads are present at the WS museum, though not in all colors. Also, they are recent (20th C). I was there in 2014. I suppose we could call them Fichtel beads though Germans might wonder what "spruce beads" are? Maybe the original suggestion -- Bavarian beads -- would be the best name for the furnace-wound beads from the Fichtegebirge. That's what they are called on one of the Warmensteinach sample cards.
