Thank you very (very!) much for the information on exhibition and catalogue. Just ordered two copies (and can't wait to receive them)!
Especially the timing of their pieces is of greatest interest to me. We, as collectors, subconciously tend to make our pieces somewhat older than they possibly are, I guess.

I, for example, thought my anklet - the one I posted last night - would be from ~ 1900, but it turned out, according to the exibition, at least, that the piece is some 30 years younger, stemming from 1932, as they write.

It is really difficult to find real old piece (pre 1900). Not only because they are already sold an part of worldwide collections, also and mainly because the Moroccan owners returned their silver jewellery to their "Mallem", when the pieces fell out of style or favour. They were simply turned into liquid silver, for the production of something new.

Only real valuable pieces - often gold from Fes - were left intact, but those are either not on the market or too expensive to be bought!

84 years of age, as in the case of the two Kabyle anklets, is already a "good age".

Again: Thanks a lot for this wonderful information. I will certainly visit Paris to see the exibition - just a 5 hour drive, door-to-door!
