You may remember the sketches and photos I posted to demonstrate (some of the) making process. These are some of the beads - excuse the terrible shot - they make. They are actually lovely, especially if we consider the rudimentary production process, basically without any tools. I will make a better photo soon. This beads are certainly more attractive than the rather awful new Muraqat. When I go back to Mauritania, I will bring a few strands - what's on the photo is all I have. The female maker was actually "sold-out" at the time of my visit. Wonder who have been the buyers - never saw the beads being worn during my trips.
