Absolutely, Frederic! I assume other cultures (Himalayas) have adorned their amber as well, but the pieces I have shown - as many others - are clearly from Southern Mauritania and partly, more rarely, from Northern Mali.

The metals they use to adorn or fix the soft apertures of the Baltic amber is often in same order on older varieties, as seen here, representing sun, moon and earth.
