Alan C. reground the early 20th c. Venetian green chevron (28mm x 20mm) for me into a classic shape and I love it. Some would disagree with doing this, re. collectibility of the bead...but I'd had it in it's original more-or-less blunt shape for 8 years and wasn't ever satisfied with the way it looked strung. Now I can wear it and enjoy it! (oopsy daisy, I can see the sinew poking out of the left end of the chevron - I wrapped and stuffed so the bead sits better on the cord.:) Third beads out from the center are lovely red "spool" grinds by Uwe of vintage 1920s 5L Venetian cane, 18mm x 13mm, and next to them, millefiori that he also ground.
Next is a necklace of 1920s - 1930s drawn ("chevron family") Moretti beads. The center bead is about 18mm x 17mm. The cylinders are 22mm x 12mm. When I restrung these, I didn't add or subtract any beads and kept the same composition, but I did use "lemongrass green" cord and knotted on either side of each Moretti bead.
