Now, would the thing around my neck be considered a necklace?
The leather and brass element was salvaged from a yatch; the mysterious brush -- a long treasured present from a special friend, a Forumite too -- is made of animal hair, silver (i.e. the old Chinese coin on top of it), copper and brass... although nothing is known regarding its original use.
In fact, I am still wondering what a bead actually is -- despite so many previous lengthy contributions of several authorized friends here.
See: the second pic shows what clearly is a RING, and more specifically the Baltic amber finger ring I am wearing right now on the little finger of my left hand.
Still, as recently as yesterday morning the same object was a 23x6 mm Baltic amber discoid BEAD. What happened to it?: I amused myself widening the hole from 1mm to 18 mm. We know that quantity affects quality, but to such an exent? Such a metamorphose? From bead to ring?
Thus I resolved to post -- the temptation of answering Frederick calls is so compelling, any excuse is valid.
