Hi Ethel,
The "problem", if you can call it that, occurs especially when a rare Venetian bead comes up for sale. It is sometimes very hard, even for the experts, to tell the origin. I got a set of strangely colored millefiori beads (olive green and dark red) a few years ago, and everyone, including myself, doubted they were Venetian. But then I found the exact bead on a Venetian bead sample card from the Sick collection.

So we should be happy that people post these inquiries since everyone in the BCN community continues to learn more about beads, especially folks that are new to collecting.

We all had to start from blissful ignorance at one time!
