Hi, I bought this necklace yesterday. It looks like the early 20th c. Bakelite necklaces and has a screw clasp in the same material. It weighs about 165g and the central bead is quite large. I've tested it with Autosol and it does stain like bakelite. The thread inside seems original and not modern. However, the colour is a vivid deep peachy pink. When I shine a light to the beads, they are very consistent and very slightly translucent - no veining whatsoever. What do you think? Was bakelite ever produced in this colour?
