Original Message:   Thanks for your interest Paul, and Beadiste~
It is basically as Stephanie says, the size of the knots are larger than the perforation. The knot is composed of three strands, though in this project I used six to enlarge the strand collection, and knot size. Called a crown knot, the knots are just stacked, and are actually super easy!

Here is another group of previously seen phenolics, Carole helped me acquire… Note some Kifa in my braided tassels… Hmmmm…, I wrote the following photo caption, and wonder if anyone has any revisions?

"Nomad Bead Merchants Collection. Antique Mauritanian re-ground phenolic Bakelite trade beads. The original barrel shape was tribally re-shaped, to the preferred diamond form. Presently suspended from the tribal perforation, original perforation is observed. "

Love to see some of your work Stephanie…

Thanks, Jake
