The mate to the bat bead turns out to have what look like phoenixes on it. Comparing the bat/phoenix beads with the beads with the clouds background, I think a case could be make for Nick's theory that these are older beads. Perhaps 1950-1960s? The reason I say this is that the brass cloisons seem more patinaed in the bat and phoenix beads. And they seem large and heavy enough to be scroll weights, especially if a tassel and knot were worked around them. They do seem to form pairs.
