Original Message:   Dating Cloisonné beads -post 1970...
There are specialist collector clubs for cloisonné alone. You may want to contact them and become our resident research specialist in cloisonné beads. Then report back to us.

IN MY EXPERIENCE, however, I can assure you that almost all of the Chinese beads shown in the recent posts -except for the ojime & the Mariam Haskel necklaces- have been made after 1970. And more likely after 1980.

If you were to visit dealers in Hong Kong, you would be able to do excellent research in this field. I feel certain there will be a few Chinese bead dealers in Hong Kong, who speak excellent English and can help you sort things out.
