Original Message:   Request forBead Identification Help

This past weekend at the Bead Society of Greater Washington Bazaar, a gentleman brought these beads in for identification. Everyone was stumped since they weren't easily recognizable considering their shape. The man acquired these beads when he was posted with the State Department in Sudan, many years ago. They are glass. Unfortunately, that was about the extent of his knowledge. Has anyone ever seen these before or have an idea what they might be? A few of the local experts were suggesting Phoenician.
