The africa infinite bead looks to me like it may be a prosser bead, that is decorated afterwards. The bottom end is quite rough, and that is typical of a specific type of prosser beads. There are quite a few ways that the Bapterosses beadmakers tried to copy chevrons. This could be one of them. It could also be a Czech attempt, though I have not seen any proof that they copied chevrons like this.

The bead you show to me looks quite different from this faux chevron. It looks like actual porcelain/ceramic, and not the prosser glass/ceramic material. Difficult to tell from a picture, but I do not think they are related.
