Hello Jim, Until challenged in the 19th C. by Bohemia/Chechoslovakia, Venice was the dominant glass-beadmaker for the world for nearly 500 years. Exceptions would have to be made in the 17th C. for Dutch beads—though their output may have been considerably smaller than that of Venice. In the 18th C., the Dutch seem to have made some plain wound beads—including in a dark amber tone of brownish yellow. I could not rule-out Holland. By the same token, I can't rule-out China. I'd have to see the beads in real life (though I expect Chinese beads to have a white or pale mandrel-release compound in their perforations).
