Original Message:   Bapterosses factory in Briare
Last week I spent a few days in Briare, France. The main purpose was to vist the museum of the Bapterosses bead, button and tile factory. But I had also heard about the factory dump site that was apparently very big and accessible. There is now a new factory, that only makes tiles, but they do not use the dump site.

I managed to find it, and it was amazing. A huge pile of mostly tiles, a site that was at least 300 feet wide, and a 1000 feet long, and at some spots you could tell the pile of tiles was at least 30 feet high. There were some other people looking for tiles for mosaic and such, but no one seemed to know that there were beads in there as well. After some digging, we were able to get to layers that contained buttons and also beads. It was great to go on such a treasure hunt.We spent two days digging and sorting through huge piles of tiles, buttons, sand and....beads! I will be writing about this trip and the finds on my new blog, but I already wanted to show you some of my treasures. The first picture shows my mom searching for beads, and the second is a close up of one of the layers.
