Original Message:   Since my first visit to the Picard Trade Bead Museum, summer 2009
I was making my own beaded jewelry since the late 1990's, and bought a nice strand of Yemeni coral from Joyce around then, but did not start bead collecting in earnest until I helped organize a bus trip to the Picard's Trade Bead Museum in 2009. I bought all my first Venetian trade beads there, and have hardly stopped collecting them since. Besides Venetian beads, I'm very interested in the phenolic beads that were made for the African trade as amber imitations. Also other plastic beads that have been made to imitate both amber and Bakelite.

I started selling "spares" in 2011.
