It's called "crowning" - remember the flat plastic cord we learned to make keyrings with when we were kids......it's the same technique but using multiple strands of bead cord, finishing with macrame. Jamey taught it to Jewels and to Abbey. Jewels still presents many of her necklaces using the technique - she has probably taught a number of artisans to use it. I think Abbey still lives in the San Francisco bay area and as far as I know she still makes necklaces for Xanadou gallery (SF) and a number of designers in the collector and tribal show genre in N. Cal. Now it is taught as a class at bead shows, too. Rosanna learned. Jamey showed me the technique, I did a number of sample lengths, but I find it demands much, much patience!
