Hi Vicki, All your beads are venetian and trade beads which we could buy on the african markets, but today they are more and more rare. These I see, are not reproductions. Most I see here are millefiori. You have to follow the Rosanna's advice to buy the Picard's books. You are here, on the good site, to have many explications, exchanges of advices, and so on...it is very nice! Welcome!!! Please, it's better if your pics are clear, net!! You can also buy the Dubin book which can you give a good appreciation of the bead's history in the world. It's like the bible for the bead collectors! You have many other very good books like "Collectible beads" of Robert Liu (Ornament)- "Middle Eastern and Venetian Glass beads" of Augusto Panini (Skira), "Perle Veneziane" of Pauline B. Maruscutto (NED). You have also few recent books of Floorskap which are also very good: "beads from Germany". More and more......but it's a very good beginning. That is what is fascinating in the collection of beads: it is to discover that beads accompanied the evolution of the humanity by their different roles during this evolution, the progress of process techniques during the history, the history of the business, the using of the beads in Africa .... The history of beads in Africa is fascinating and very different from the history of beads in Asia, for example!!! Good luck in this fascinating world!!!
