Hi Linda, I have seen many nearly authentic looking reproductions of antique Pema Raka beads in Beijing as long as seven years ago. They were being offered as authentic antique ones, but at lower prices. I feel your bead appears be one of the new ones. The surface texture and aperture are subtle clues for comparison purposes. In person they do appear to be nearly the same. Just Fred P.S. Please provide measurements and, if I get a chance, I may photograph a number of old ones for you.
