Putting order in my collection I found this bead I bought about twenty years ago in a flea market in Italy. The vendor told me he found it in Afghanistan, but I couldn't say. It is clearly compressed, 23mm "high", 18mm large and 9 mm thick. Perforation on the upper end is flattened, with a maximum width of 6 mm; on the opposite end it is round, 4mm large. all the surface is completely ornamented with "longitudinal" ribs, so I think it was flattened after having impressed ribs. Does anyone have an idea about the area of production?
