Many African brass beads are cast via the Lost Wax method. First a model of the bead is made using wax "wire" (probably around a friable core that is later removed). This is covered in slip and prepared to become a mold. The wax is melted out, and molten brass is poured in. (That's the big picture.)

I cannot tell you who made these unusually small brass beads, nor what their local name would have been. Unfortunately, this is not the sort of information that bead sellers acquire and pass along to collectors.

Plus, you know, most beads do not have names. Some have descriptions. JDA.
