I have acquired several Japanese necklaces over the years with similar swirled beads. They are finely crafted beads. I'm especially fond of the blue/purple swirls. Most of the strands came from thrift stores, usually needing repair. I remove the fake pearls and plain beads. I hope one day to design a necklace using only the swirled glass beads.
