to me these appear to be on a short necklace, typical of the clever opaque glass segments moulded for costume jewellery in Czech republic in around 1950s - the form of each quarter sphere including the hole is the same. and i bet there are several different pattern sequences that these shapes could be threaded into. someone might discover examples on a sample card perhaps?
