Original Message: Re: Taiwan Jade |

Years ago they used explosives on the jade and it ruined lots of it. The jade was apparently found while deep hard rock mining and was not of primary interest. Jade deposits pinch in and out and can extend for dozens of miles in fault zones so it does make sense that enterprising people could discover another deposit. The initial deposit was extraordinary because it was chatoyant nephrite. Thanks for the updated information.
