I have been into mala making a few weeks ago*, I really dig it: who knows, perhaps I was a bhiksu or a sadhu, in a former incarnation? A potpourri there: phenolic resin(aka cultural amber),Chinese turquoise,bone and ivory,wood and seeds,amazonite,carnelian, pema-raka and banded agate, silver and gold.
*Except for the one made of Mali carnelian beads, which I made about 25 years ago. It was the property of one of my friends, that passed away, and her grandson sold it back to me just before Christmas,2019.
