The "mid-20th c" is 1950.

There were virtually no intricate multicolored glass beads from modern India before 1974.** And the actually-intricate mosaic-glass products postdate 1980.

The earliest these beads might be would be the late-20th C., and they might be from the early 21st C.

P.S.** India had a long and varied interest in producing glass beads, as long ago as 2000+ years. These industries were essentially crushed by the British Raj. They began to prosper again in the '70s and to make great strides in the '80s. But I am not discussing the time before 1970. The beads we find in the marketplace that are known to be Indian postdate by decades, the earlier products (that are not generally elucidated).
