Frank, I am assuming you mean 600 mesh not 60. As far as the final shaping goes I used a 260 mesh hard diamond wheel. In pre-polish I used soft wheels in this order 600, 1200 and 14,000 Have not had bloody fingers for at least thirty five years from bead making. Plenty prior to learning techniques to avoid it.
